As the Cold Moves In

With Old Man Winter on our doorsteps, remember the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Programs available to low income people.  These programs provide the following:

   1. Help to pay heating and electrical bills

   2. Energy crisis assistance (help paying for an emergency event, such as getting notice that the heat will be turned off for non-payment of past bills)

   3. Residential weatherization and other energy-related home repair (This includes furnace repair or replacement, hot water heater repair or replacement, insulation installed.)

Those with low income who have had or expect to have trouble paying energy bills should look into their eligibility by calling 1-866-HEATWIS (432-8947).

This is the best time to investigate whether you meet the criteria for getting help for any of the above programs.
